BOONE, NC--Winthrop junior All-American Marthaline Cooper had the second best NCAA weight throw of the season while senior sprinter Alesha Love had a strong day on Saturday by winning the 400 meter dash as the Eagles began their 2016 indoor track and field season this past weekend in the five-school Appalachian State Open which also included Western Carolina, Gardner-Webb and Wofford.
